Council Committees

The Stockton City Council has several Council Committees that are subcommittees of the Council and are comprised entirely of members of the City Council. For City of Stockton Council Committee positions, the Mayor makes appointments with Council concurrence; a Resolution is required. Appointments are for two-year terms, unless otherwise noted.

Ad-Hoc Committees are established for one-year terms, subject to extension by Resolution (Council Policy 100-4, II.c.).

Advisory Committees

Other types of committees include Advisory Committees. The Climate Action Plan Advisory Committee was approved on November 14, 2008, by Resolution 08-0438; there are no Councilmembers appointed to this Advisory Committee.

Other Committees

Many community-based committees have members that include Stockton City Councilmembers. Appointments to these committees are made by the Mayor with Council concurrance.
